Details

.223 Remington ammunition continues to maintain a primary position in U.S. official and private use. This is partially because of the popularity of the rifles and new pistols chambered for it and also because it is particularly well known for being a cost effective round given its impressive ballistics and potential terminal performance. Further, the .223 is capable of being safely fired from chambers of cartridges that are deirevide from is such as the .223 Wylde and 5.56x45. The 62 grain fmj bullet by Tula exits the muzzle in excess of 3025 ft per sec being moved by an excess of 1300 ft lbs of energy. The slightly heavier than common (55grain) bullet is better served in faster rifled barrels such as 1 in 8 on 1 in 7 and often chosen for longer range precision shooting as well as simple range and firearms training.

The Tula Cartridge Works has been making ammunition since the time of the tsars. In typical Russian fashion, the goal is to make something that will be ready to work, no matter the conditions of weather or the time it has been sitting in storage. Hence the Berdan primed, steel cases. They are not meant to be competitive, just reliable. This 1000 round case is ideal for keeping on hand for a rainy day, be it range training or Martian invasion: Tula is ready.
