Details

Since its introduction as a varmint turned military round, the .223 Remington has become, and remains, a focal point for customization and purpose specific “tweaking.” This is encouraged by the cartridge’s relatively low cost of materials to impressive performance ratio. The most common weight of the bullet is 55 grains: coupled with a slow twist (1:9) barrel giving the lighter bullet sufficient stability for dependable accuracy out to beyond 600 yards. In faster twist barrels (1:8, 1:7) a heavier bullet is able to go out a little further and hit a little harder.

Tula’s 62 grain full metal jacketed bullet has a muzzle speed of 3025 feet per second hitting with an average of 1300 foot pounds. This is designed for range training and firearms handling of the faster twist barrels seen in HBAR or custom build AR rifle systems. This ammo is loaded into 40 round boxes and with the bulk case, you’ll get 25 boxes for 1,000 rounds in all.

Prefer a slightly lighter, faster bullet? Tula also makes this same .223 ammo package with a 55 grain bullet that we have for sale here

Clearly intended for no frills mass consumption, the steel cased, berdan primed ammunition from Tula Arsenal in Russia is designed for reliable and consistent, if not custom, performance. Designed to endure an interminable shelf life and ignite as if made this morning, Tula Ammo maintains a standard of readiness and function over form that appears to fit the stereotype of the Motherland when it comes to defense.
