Details

The .308 Winchester was introduced in 1952 after several decades of development to put the same .30 caliber bullet of a .30-06 on a shorter case. Research into this round began after World War I when the ’06 was deemed problematic for semi and full automatic weapons. While Browning and Garand kept the .30-06 in play for World War II, Winchester developed the round for hunting with short action rifles to imitate the performance of the Springfield cartridge, albeit at ranges of about 800 yards. The 7.62 NATO, adopted two years later, is physically the same size and the two rounds can be fired out the other’s chambers. The 145 grain bullet by Partizan has a muzzle velocity of approximately 2800 feet per second with 2600 foot pounds of energy. It is ideal for target shooting and range training, though it is also perfectly capable of delivering competition level performance.

PRVI Partizan is a munitions producer of the modern state of Serbia, begun in 1922 for the Yugoslavian military. Known for military reliability and reloadable brass cases, Partizan is a well-established brand for many calibers, including those that are less common.
