Details

The Remington 6.8 Special Purpose Cartridge was designed in 2002 to answer the need for increased downrange lethality over the 5.56 NATO cartridge. It was designed to bridge the gap between the latter and the 7.62x39, especially out of short barreled rifles, without requiring major rifle overhauls to what was already in service: the simplest conversion is to use a different upper receiver and magazine. Field tests in both Iraq and Afghanistan led the armed forces to conclude that there was very little cost to benefit ratio, however, the increased muzzle energy has led many civilian shooters to find the 6.8 SPC cartridge to be well worth their individual effort. The 110 grain polymer tipped bullet has a muzzle velocity of 2570 feet per second with over 1600 foot pounds of energy. The streamlined bullet offers superior accuracy and expansion for varmint hunting.

Hornady has made premium hunting and self defense ammunition since the 1960's offering shooters an ideal option for when each and every shot counts. The V-MAX is Hornady's superior design for feeding and ballistics, especially in speed and expansion delivering maximum terminal energy. As always, Hornady brass is fully reloadable, adding additional value to the shooter.
