FN Herstal - Full Metal Jacket - 27 Grain 5.7x28mm Ammo - 50 Rounds

The 5.7x28 round was developed by Fabrique Nationale Herstal (FNH) as a replacement round for the 9mm NATO round, as requested by the Treaty Organization. Designed for use in either pistol or carbine, it was meant to have better ballistic and terminal performance than the 9mm and with the capability to defeat body armor. One way to consider the round is a miniature 5.56mm NATO. Another is as a reloadable, and jacketed .22 WMR. The full metal jacketed hollow point, 27 grain bullet by FNH has a muzzle velocity of 1890 feet per second with 222 foot pounds of energy. This is a round designed for target shooting as well as personal defense, though it is not the armor piercing round. FNH is no longer the only manufacturer of this caliber, but it is the original.
