Details

The 6.5x55mm Mauser ammo, or Swedish Mauser round is a first-generation smokeless powder round adopted in 1891 by the forces of Sweden and Norway: the two modern nations were linked at the time. The narrow, yet long projectile provides impressive stability and therefore correspondingly good accuracy and penetration. Capable of competing at long range competitions, the caliber is also very popular with deer hunters in both North America and northern Europe.

The 139 grain soft point bullet by PRVI/PPU moves at a muzzle velocity of 2543 feet per second with 1991 foot pounds of energy when fired as part of this ammo. This is a hunting round yet is often adopted for range shooting and target practice by “swede” owners as military surplus ammunition is becoming increasingly rare, especially in the United States.

Collector military rifle and pistol owners have found a friend in PRVI/PPU as the company not only provides reliable, first rate ammunition on reloadable cases but is also one of the few companies that offers their quality in calibers that are often considered obsolete by modern gun companies and ammunition makers. Such modern conveniences on calibers that as often as not be only found in corrosive and Berdan primers is a positive that few shooters can afford to take lightly. PRVI, on the other hand is affordable. Not to mention fun.
