9mm Largo Ammo

9x23mm Largo ammo was introduced in 1901 for the Bergmann pistol, which was adopted by the Spanish military. This cartridge is comparable in performance to standard pressure 9mm Parabellum ammo; it is not as powerful as (and most definitely not interchangeable with) the .38 Super or the 9x23mm Winchester. As such, the 9mm Largo is a relatively mild-recoiling cartridge that is pleasant to shoot on the range.

Pistols firing 9mm Largo ammo have been made by many companies including Star, Llama, and Astra. A typical load for this caliber fires a medium weight 123 grain bullet at slightly under 1,200 feet per second.
