Details

Since its adoption by the US and then NATO, the 5.56x45 (NATO) cartridge has become one of the most popular rifle rounds in America. This is mostly due to the popularity of the AR15 series of rifles – virtually every major gunmaker has a copy and there are a great many parts makers and non-major manufacturers as well. Care should be taken to not use the 5.56 in chambers marked .223 Remington, while they are almost identical in every way, the former is loaded to higher pressure and therefor should not be fired in latter guns, though .223 can be fired in 5.56 chambers.

The 55 grain full metal jacket bullet by Independence has a muzzle velocity of 3165 feet per second with 1223 foot pounds of energy. This is a round designed for training with your military style firearm, target and competitive shooting.

Imported by Federal Ammunition, Independence is the branding of commercial ammunition sold in the US that is made by Israeli Military Industries (IMI), the state manufacturer for that state, Independence ammo is made to the same exacting standards as for the military arms of Israel – a country that needs its weapons to work accurately and dependably: a greater testament of quality will be difficult to find.
