Details

The Spanish Military adopted 7x57 mauser in 1893 for their new model Mauser rifles. The caliber has a flatter trajectory and better ballistics than its harder hitting, more common 8mm (7.92) cousin that was adopted by the Germans. The 7mm Mauser earned a terrific reputation both in Cuba against US forces during the Spanish American War as well as in the hands of Dutch farmers fighting against the British in the Second Boer War. The caliber remained a favorite of sportsmen hunting in Africa – English shooters know it as the .275 Rigby - and continues to be invoke poetical praise from older rifle shooters to this day.

PRVI’s 139 soft point bullet load has a muzzle velocity of 2657 feet per second with 2175 foot pounds of energy behind it. This ideal for sport hunting or for target shooting out of any number of military and sporting rifles that are still about in this venerable caliber.

PRVI’s reputation for reliable ammunition is maintained by their providing the Serbian military, but their commercial appeal lies in their providing of older rifle calibers that are difficult to find anywhere else. Loaded with dependable, traditional constructed bullets to keep pricing comfortable, their use of reloadable brass cases keep hand loaders of these calibers keeping their rifle barrels warm and continually serving.
