Details

The versatility of .22 Long Rifle ammo is limited only by the bullet type, however, the ammunition is usually affordable enough that even the most specific purpose designed bullet can be used for the most mundane of applications such as plinking cans off the back porch with high performance, sporting rounds that can in turn also be used for professional competitions or pest (rabid) control. Winchester’s 235 round box of loose rounds is just such an example.

These copper plated, hollow point, 36 grain bullets have a muzzle velocity of 1280 feet per second with approximately 130 foot pounds of energy. They are ideal for small game, pest control or simple target practice. The copper plating also makes them suitable for use in firearms with suppressors, as the plating produces less lead fouling in the baffles.

Winchester Repeating Arms continues to preserve itself as a source of quality shooting sports products. The mere name conjures up images of the Wild West where a firearm’s reliable function was a necessity to survival for putting food on the table and protecting against predators at the door. Since World War II, their ammunition is still made in their Clayton, Missouri plant where the tradition of reliable and responsible use of firearms is kept alive.
