Details

The US military's adoption of the .223 was received with a lot of trepidations and concern: the small bullet was not felt to cause enough damage to be worthy of a military round. Incorrect assumptions about care and cleaning of the new firearm that it was chambered for, the M-16, in Vietnam did little to assuage the round's antagonists. However, upon the adoption of correct procedures, the .223 round's hyper velocity proved very devastating indeed. Today's modern .223 is more stable than its early predecessor, making it all the more accurate for modern shooters. And while this cartridge may be fired in 5.56 NATO chambered firearms, care should be taken not to fire the NATO round in .223 Remington chambered guns. Tula's 55 grain full metal jacket bullet exits the muzzle at over 3240 feet per second, carrying over 1280 foot pounds of energy. This round is designed with the intention of training and target practice in mind. You'll get a single box of Tula 223 ammunition when you buy this product. We also sell this by the case so be sure to click here for the bulk 223 ammo package of this same load.

Russian arms are famous for their reliability, if not their comfort. It seems their ammunition follows a similar modus of production and intent: Tula Cartridge Works ammunition is used not only by the Russian military, but also exported to dozens of other nation's defense forces as well as to millions of civilian shooters throughout the US.
