Details

.308 Winchester ammunition is often spoken synonymously with the 7.62x51 NATO cartridge as the two are almost identical. The former was introduced in 1952 and the latter adopted by NATO as the rifle round common to all members of the Treaty Organization. The .308 is actually loaded to slightly higher pressures than the NATO round, but both are rated by SAAMI to be safely fired from the other’s chambers. It is one of the most common, full rifle calibers in the world for both military and sporting applications.

This Federal .308 is loaded with a 180 grain trophy bonded tip bullet that exits the muzzle at 2620 feet per second with 2743 foot pounds of energy. This is an exceptional hunting or defense round, perfect for use in both manual action and self-loading firearms.

Federal ammunition has made premium performance sporting ammunition since the 1920’s in Minnesota. Today they offer a full line of ammunition. The nickel and reloadable cased Trophy ammunition is loaded with a bonded tip combines bonded construction to the with a solid copper shank. The polymer tip tightens grouping and penetrative capabilities. This results in a well-made bullet to fulfill the full spectrum of medium and big game at all ranges.
