45 GAP Ammo

.45 GAP (Glock Automatic Pistol) is a relative new-comer to the market and was developed by CCI/Speer and introduced in 2003 with the Glock 37 handgun as well as the more compact Glock 38 and 39 models. It improves on the .45 ACP in the Glock platform, being sturdier and more compact. Unlike the .45 Auto, it uses a small pistol primer.

.45 GAP ammo uses 185, 200, and 230 grain bullets with muzzle velocity increasing as projectile weight decreases. Lighter, faster-moving loads intended for defensive use produce higher diameter expansion; the overall power level of the cartridge ensures penetration will generally be adequate. Compared to other pistol cartridges, the .45 GAP produces above-average felt recoil.

.45 GAP ammo is used by a number of law enforcement agencies including the Florida Highway Patrol.
