7.63 Mauser

Introduced in 1896, 7.63 Mauser ammunition (also known as the .30 Mauser) is a bottlenecked pistol cartridge originally designed for the Mauser C96 handgun. These rounds can be used in firearms chambered for both it and the 7.62 Tokarev, which is descended from the Mauser cartridge. Historically, the Finnish and German militaries made good use of this interchangeability by using captured Soviet weapons with 7.63 Mauser ammo.

7.63 Mauser ammunition fires a light 85-90 grain bullet at a muzzle velocity of about 1,500 feet per second. This results in flat trajectories and good medium-range performance without heavy recoil. European manufacturers such as Prvi Partizan and Fiocchi still produce some ammo in this caliber.
