Details

While the .40 Smith & Wesson may have lost its status as a primary American law enforcement round with the FBI’s return to the 9mm in 2017, it remains popular with both police officers and private shooters for its considerable balance of speed and terminal ballistics energy. Developed as a shortened 10mm Auto since that round was found to be too much for many FBI agents, the .40 was introduced in 1990, this cartridge attempts to mix the knock down power of a 45 with the speed and penetration of the 9mm. The result is a round that can be considerably snappy to some shooters. The 165 grain flat nosed bullet by Magtech leaves the muzzle at approximately 1050 feet per second with 404 foot pounds of energy. This is an ideal round for target shooting, range training and of course competitive match shooting.

Since 1990 Magtech has established a reputation of quality range ammunition for use of private and professional shooters for training or direct competition. The brass cases are boxer primed and therefore fully reloadable by handloaders with the appropriate dies and presses, making this 500 round, half case lot a good base for stockpiling or with enough rounds to make a day at the range a fulfilling experience.
