Details

First introduced in 1896, Smith & Wesson’s .32 Long was the original chambering for the company’s new Hand Ejector model. It was simply a lengthened case version of the .32 S&W, now .32 Short. So popular was it for law enforcement use that Colt manufactured a version of it: the .32 Colt New Police round: not to be confused with the .32 Colt Long. While underpowered by today’s standards it remains a very popular round for target shooting, not only out of firearms in its own chamber but also fired from .32 H&R and .327 Federal Magnum chambers. The 98 grain wadcutter bullet by Magtech leaves the muzzle at 682 ft per sec and approximately 100 ft pounds of energy. This is a wonderful range training or target shooting round leaving crisp, round holes in paper score cards.

Magtech’s contribution to the target shooting community is not only in providing affordable and dependably performing ammunition, but also in manufacturing their ammunition on boxer primed cases that can be reloaded for further use. A not so inconsequential consideration to shooters of these older calibers that are not often available from the more recognized names in American ammo making.
