Details

Introduced for Russian military service in 1891 for the Mosin Nagant rifle, the 7.62x54 R [R for rimmed] rifle cartridge officially has the longest, still active serving record. Still used for sniper and squad support weapons of Russian, Chinese, etc. origin, the bottle necked, rimmed cartridge has characteristics of an otherwise bygone time: the cutting edge of a hundred years ago. Yet, one thing that can be said for the Russians: if it does not work, they will not keep it around. The 7.62x54R works.

This 7.62x54r ammo is loaded with 182 grain, full metal jacketed round by PRVI brings a muzzle velocity of 2626 feet per second with 2784 foot pounds of energy. This cartridge is made for target shooting and range training as well as competitive military style shooting with any of the many Model 1891 variants found on the military surplus markets.

PRVI Partizan has been a state backed and utilized ammunition maker since 1928 and the founding of Yugoslavia. A nation that was often at odds with its neighbors, Yugoslavia – and Serbia after - placed great reliance upon dependably performing ammunition. Brass cased and boxer primed offer further value to hooters looking to prepare their own custom loads of this caliber.
