Details

Introduced in 1950, Remington’s .222, or Triple Deuce, was the first rimless .22 caliber round manufactured in the US. Remington’s new cartridge was a result of their effort in this direction which has in turn sponsored several other calibers in this diameter, including the very popular .223 and 5.56 NATO rounds. The .222 itself continues to provide consistent service as a very accurate small to medium game cartridge as well as use as a bench rest target round. The 50 grain soft point bullet by Sellier & Bellot has a muzzle velocity of 3215 feet per second with 1148 foot pounds of energy. It is ideal for hunting varmints and other animals up to coyotes. In Europe the round is even very popular for use in hunting small deer.

Sellier & Bellot is a Bohemian munitions manufacturer with almost two hundred years of experience in ammunition component and cartridge production. During that time, their ammunition has been used by half a dozen or more empires and nations that Bohemia was part of in turn. S&B’s reputation for consistent quality and reloadable cases has made it a popular choice for American shooters for both target shooting ammunition as well as game cartridges, such as this .222 Remington.
